Surfrider Foundation Pledge

In the second ever blog post on this site, I am pledging to donate 5% of Surfy Money proceeds to the Surfrider Foundation. When you buy stuff through this site or sign-up for various accounts and services, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you and 5% of that will go to Surfrider Foundation to protect our beaches and clean water.

I’ve been a member of the Surfrider Foundation for years and am excited to up my contribution. Thank you for making it possible 🙂

Why Surfrider Foundation?

Surfing brings this community together at it’s core and this is what Surfrider Foundation supports:

• Plastic Reduction: Reducing the impact of plastics in the marine environments that surround us
• Ocean Protection: Defending our oceans from challenges threatening the vitality of the ecosystem
• Beach Access: Working with decision-makers to ensure full and fair beach access for all to enjoy
• Coast & Climate: Taking on issues that threaten our beaches and natural shorelines
• Clean Water: Protecting the health and sustainability of our planet’s most precious resource

Impact

As of writing, they have accomplished the following:

• 200 Chapters and Student Clubs
• 800+ Victories to Protect Our Coast
• 182k+ Volunteer Hours in 2021

How Can I support?

There are many ways you can support Surfrider Foundation:

• Volunteer with a Surfrider Club near you. While you’re helping clean up, you’ll also get to meet cool people. I know at least one couple that budded their relationship during a Surfrider beach clean up event
• Shop their store and show your support. Get gifts for family and friends too!
• Donate. Just $10 per month helps protect a quarter mile of your local coast
• Take Action: Take action right from your computer by contacting local officials
• Surfy Money: We pledge to donate 5% of our proceeds. Thank you 🙂
